About Me
I’m Jannalee, a trauma-informed therapist and coach. I’m also a mom, a partner, a lifelong seeker of meaning, and someone who knows what it feels like to hold everything together—until you can’t anymore.
I grew up in Provo, Utah, immersed in the intricate culture of the LDS church. As the oldest girl of eleven children, I learned early on how to care for others—skills that naturally carried into adulthood. I married young, and just before completing my bachelor’s degree, I welcomed my first child. As a stay-at-home mom raising seven children, I placed my faith in religion as the foundation for overcoming life’s challenges. I truly believed that religious practices and faith held the answers to every problem.
But life had other lessons in store. When one of my children faced a mental health crisis, I felt unprepared and overwhelmed, grappling with feelings of helplessness and confusion. It was a pivotal moment—one that led me to seek therapy for the first time. What began as a necessity turned into a profound awakening. I realized that striving for perfection—a goal I had pursued since childhood—was not only unattainable but also unnecessary. Instead, I discovered that life is a beautiful, imperfect journey of growth, self-discovery, and wonder.
This experience ignited my passion for healing and growth. I returned to school, earned my master’s degree in counseling, and became a licensed counselor in Arizona. As I worked through my own emotional healing, I also began to explore spirituality in ways I had never imagined. Breaking free from conventional teachings, I connected deeply with the feminine divine, learned to trust my inner wisdom, and embraced the freedom of continual questioning, listening, and learning.
My Training
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brigham Young University and, 28 years later, returned to graduate school to complete my Master of Arts in Counseling from Ottawa University. I’m now a licensed therapist in Arizona and Idaho, with my office located in Mesa, Arizona. My coaching services are available online to clients nationwide.
I specialize in emotional healing, religious and childhood trauma, faith transitions, and relationship dynamics. My approach is compassionate and experiential, drawing on EMDR, Sand Tray Therapy, Relational Life Therapy (RLT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS)—methods that help people move beyond surface-level symptoms to address the root of what’s really going on.
Whether you’re navigating a spiritual awakening or a mixed-faith marriage, carrying the weight of childhood trauma, or facing hard questions about who you are and what you believe, you deserve support that honors your experience.
My Office Space
I’ve created my office to feel homey, warm, and full of intention—whether you’re joining me in person or online. It’s a place where all of you is welcome: the parts that feel strong and the ones that feel fragile, the questions you’re afraid to say out loud, and the pieces of yourself you’re still getting to know.
Outside the Office
When I’m not working with clients or spending time with family, you’ll find me seeking wonder and beauty in nature. I love the smell of orange blossoms, the sound of rivers and rain, and the feeling of being quietly alive while standing in a forest of trees. These experiences help me find stillness and connect with my own soul.
I also enjoy quilting, baking, watercolor painting, and puzzling. Creative activities require courage and remind me that it’s okay to be imperfectly human.
Ready When You Are
Whether you’re carrying spiritual trauma, relationship stress, or just feeling emotionally stuck, I’m here to walk with you.
