About Me

I am Jannalee, a trauma-informed therapist and coach. I am also a mom, a partner, and a lifelong seeker of meaning. I know what it feels like to hold everything together until it quietly becomes too much.

I grew up in Provo, Utah, immersed in the culture of the LDS church. As the oldest girl of eleven children, caregiving and responsibility became second nature early on. I married young and welcomed my first child just before finishing my bachelor’s degree. As a stay-at-home mom raising seven children, I relied deeply on faith and religious structure as the foundation for navigating life’s challenges. I believed that devotion, obedience, and effort would provide the answers.

Life asked something different of me.

When one of my children experienced a mental health crisis, I found myself unprepared and overwhelmed. That season brought fear, grief, and a level of helplessness I had never known. Seeking therapy began as a necessity, but it became a turning point. Through my own healing work, I realized that the perfection I had chased for most of my life was neither possible nor required. What mattered was honesty, self-compassion, and the courage to grow without certainty.

That experience reshaped everything.

I returned to school, earned my master’s degree in counseling, and became a licensed therapist in Arizona. Alongside my professional training, I continued my own inner work. I began exploring spirituality beyond rigid frameworks, learning to trust my internal voice, reconnect with intuition, and remain open to ongoing questioning and growth. That personal transformation deeply informs how I show up with clients today.

My Training

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brigham Young University and, twenty-eight years later, returned to graduate school to complete my Master of Arts in Counseling from Ottawa University. I am a licensed therapist in Arizona and Idaho, with my in-person office located in Mesa, Arizona. Coaching services are offered virtually to clients nationwide.

My clinical focus includes emotional healing, childhood trauma, religious trauma, faith transitions, and relationship dynamics. My approach is experiential, trauma-informed, and relational. I integrate EMDR, Sand Tray Therapy, Relational Life Therapy, and Internal Family Systems to support healing that reaches beyond insight and addresses the roots of distress.

Whether you are navigating a faith transition, a mixed-belief relationship, unresolved childhood wounds, or questions about identity and belonging, you deserve care that honors the full complexity of your experience.

My Office Space

My office is designed to feel warm, grounded, and intentional. Whether we meet in person or virtually, it is a space where all parts of you are welcome. The parts that feel strong and the parts that feel unsure. The questions you have not said out loud yet and the pieces of yourself you are still getting to know.

Outside the Office

Outside of my work, I am drawn to wonder and beauty in nature. I love the scent of orange blossoms, the sound of rain and moving water, and the quiet aliveness of standing among trees. These moments help me reconnect with myself and find stillness.

I also enjoy quilting, baking, watercolor painting, and working on puzzles. Creative practices remind me that growth requires courage and that being human means allowing imperfection.

Ready When You Are

If you are carrying spiritual trauma, relationship strain, or a sense of emotional stuckness, you do not have to walk through it alone. I am here to support you.
